Up for a promotion???
I Love the job I have right now, I get to help people find jobs, I run a small library, offer technical computer help to people, and am required to do a lot of research. It's a job that has a little something new everyday and I'm trusted about my own work. My Boss has stood up for me when things got a little rough and she is a nice person. I get four day weekends, and the pay is OK ( I could use more hours to buff it up though) I have only been in this job since July. Because I'm only there 3 days a week, and my duties are so scattered, it feels like it has taken me a while to get caught on. While I know everyone is happy with me, I feel like, sometimes, I should be doing more. I would like to work more out of my passion of helping people and put more energy into this job, I've just been careful and have sat back to try to see what really needs doing, rather than just do what I want. It can be hard to do a job when you don't really know what's actually expected of you.
I have seen my position referred to in many ways : Administrative assistant , Employment Services Assistant, and Intake worker , are just a few of them. It is a Catch all position that is hard to explain the specific duties other than, keep clients coming, help the ones that need it, and take over any of my bosses overload that I can, as well as try to bring some extra "flair" into the program.
But I guess I've been doing something right, I've been asked if I would consider applying for an additional position with in this new program.
This program has just received some funding that will allow for a new position at our Centre. This program helps Newcomers to Canada develop their portfolios, update their training, showcase their skills As well find mentors in the community to help them develop their careers. While addressing common hurdles that newcomers have and building the confidence of these women.
I'm excited at the chance to this position. It will be posted in the job banks, and they will have to consider all applicants. I hope I get the job.

Just a quick hello to tell you how much I enjoyed your comment on julian and elizabeth's blog.
I'm an American who will remain in the States in spite of everything and keep plugging away for change.
They have to post it on jobbanks and "consider" all applicants. But let's face it, they know you, they like you, you'll really be the only one they consider. Good luck!
